The Fame Game by Blessed3126

Hey everyone!

Today (or for me, night), I am proud to announce the release of my new music video, “The Fame Game”, featuring the song “Everything’s Just Wonderful” by Lily Allen.

So how long has it been exactly?  I think it’s been 12 months and 3 weeks since I released my last official film, “Two Paths”.  It’s so nice to be back.  I’ve never been so happy to finish a film in all of my Machinima career!  (Spoilers may follow)

I’m excited about a lot of things in this movie.  First of all, there’s the fact that it was liberating, to say the least.  I decided to make this video as a test, in a way.  I wanted to see where my creativity could carry me if I stopped censoring myself, and this is what came out. lol  I took more risks with the editing and storytellig than I ever have before, and I approached a few subject matters that I’ve felt less confident about in the past.

There are several minor things about the video that didn’t come out the way that I imagined–no matter how many times I reshot– but I also understand that I am my own worst critic (as well as the owner of a janky Compaq notebook), so I will save my gripes for my diary.

“Fame Game” also took much longer than I thought it would.  Originally, I thought it would be a short, fun, prompt to get me back into major filming for the return of “The Mansion”, but the more the concept developed, the more characters and sets that were created, and I ended up spending about a week on each minute of video!  I could also attribute the drawn out filming to my work and school schedule.  I rarely had full days to film.

Anyway, as I may have implied already, “The Fame Game” was a very different music video for me.  Originally, I didn’t plan for it to have a message, but with a song like this, it’s pretty hard not to contemplate something about the world we live in and how we choose to live out our own lives.  Another thing that is extremely different about this video for me is the fact that there is no resolution.  No, not at all.  Nope, not even there.  The main focus of this film was to depict life as is.   So if you’ve been searching for some hidden conclusion, it does not exist.  lol

Thanks so much for viewing my work and reading my thoughts on it here.  As I mentioned before, constructive criticism is always welcome.
